Khatri Masjid, Pydhonie, Mumbai ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Khatri Masjid mobile application and website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your email address. A password is created by you and stored in a securely hashed (bcrypt) format. We do not store plain-text passwords.

b) Feedback / Contact Form: When you submit feedback or suggestions, we collect your name, email address, and message content. Your email is verified via a One-Time Password (OTP) before submission.

c) Device Information: The Android app may collect your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to deliver push notifications. We do not collect device IDs, IMEI numbers, or advertising identifiers.

d) Quiz Progress: If you participate in the Islamic Quiz, your answer history and scores are stored to track your learning progress.

e) Calendar Events: Personal events you create in the Hijri Calendar are stored locally and/or on the server tied to your session.

2. How We Use Your Information

To deliver prayer time notifications and Azaan alerts at scheduled times.
To send community announcements and masjid updates via push notifications.
To verify your identity through email OTP when submitting feedback.
To display your quiz scores and progress within the app.
To respond to your feedback and suggestions.

3. Permissions Used

The Android app requests the following permissions, each for a specific purpose:

Internet Access: To load the website content and communicate with our server APIs.
Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): To fire prayer-time notifications at the precise Azaan and Jamaat times. Without this, prayer alerts may be delayed or missed.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To display prayer reminders, Azaan alerts, and community announcements.
Foreground Service (Media Playback): To play the Azaan audio reliably in the background, even if the app is not open.
Boot Completed: To reschedule prayer alarms automatically after the device restarts.
Wake Lock: To ensure the device wakes up to play the Azaan at the scheduled time.
Battery Optimization Exemption: Requested so that the operating system does not block prayer alarms from firing on time.

We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, files, location, or SMS.

4. Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)

We use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications. Firebase may process your FCM registration token and basic device metadata (e.g., OS version) as described in Google Firebase Privacy Policy. We do not use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, or any other Firebase data-collection services.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on a secure server with encrypted database connections (TLS/SSL). Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. OTP codes expire within minutes and are invalidated after use. We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide our services.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties. Data is only accessed by authorised Masjid administrators for the sole purpose of responding to feedback or managing community content.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app provides Islamic educational content suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. The quiz and content features do not require registration to view.

8. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. You may disable notifications at any time from the app settings or your device settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
